North Boulder Classic Remodel & Addition

Living room with specially conditioned music room to preserve historic antique instruments

Remodel & Addition

A world-famous archaeologist and his wife retired to Boulder and designed their dream home. After working for the New York Museum of Natural History, preserving their collection of rare and priceless artifacts and showcasing their trove of antiques was at the top of their wish list. The interiors of this remodel/addition combine Old World details—intricate crown molding (as seen in the dining room), custom wood finishes and cabinets—with modern touches.

Several unique features include a specially conditioned music room to preserve historic antique instruments and a basement complete with waterproofing system and humidity controls to preserve his extensive library and irreplaceable specimens from his 50 year career. In the master bathroom we created a custom mosaic tile mural of a computer formula the owner gave us drawn out.
